THE INKEY LIST | Review

The Inkey List Review

For the first time in what feels like forever, you can get an entire skincare routine for under $50. No joke. THE INKEY LIST is a brand hailing from the UK which launched in September 2018. Founded on the basis of providing "intelligent" beauty at an accessible price point, I'm all over the no-fuss, no-fluff line that focuses on delivering high-potency active ingredients, and nothing else.

Desk Essentials | Clearly Blue Light Glasses

Desk Essentials

Between working a 9-5 desk job and blogging in my spare time, I'm sitting in front of a screen a lot. I don't mind it though, since it comes with the territory and I've learned some good tricks on how to keep myself motivated and work efficiently. What I do notice, especially when I'm tired, is the discomfort of eye strain when I'm staring at blaring blue light devices for 12hrs+ a day. I now swear by my BlueReflect Digital Protection Lenses in a pair of black Main+Central Friday frames from Clearly.ca. Along with these fab frames, I have a few beauty and lifestyle favourites to share that I keep both at home and at the office to help me stay fresh all day.

Green Beauty: Making Your Daily Routine More Eco-Friendly

This post is sponsored by Godai Soaps
The Best Green Beauty Products

Green beauty is a trend making waves in the industry, and I’ve been interested in exploring the "natural" side of lifestyle products ever since I started blogging (Ella's Botanicals, Best Moisturizing Oils). I also used to do a lot of DIY skin treatments, like this Oatmeal and Honey mask, which works beautifully to smooth and refine skin texture. In addition to choosing some products with simple, food-grade ingredients, I've transitioned from using a Clarisonic brush (with disposable brush heads) to a Foreo Mia to wash my face.

Recently, I've been more mindful about waste, especially with bottles, boxes and packaging in general. Here are my 3 top products to help kick start your green beauty routine, focusing on less waste and more efficiency!

NEW Bakuchiol Reface Pads from Indeed Labs | Review

Bakuchiol Reface Pads Indeed Labs Review

I'm in limbo with my skin right now, since my BHA liquid toners don't seem to be doing much, and my trusty lactic acid treatments aren't as trusty as they once were. All signs are pointing to Retinol as my star ingredient for daily skin maintenance, so I've definitely hopped on the bandwagon.

My first post covered the gorgeous Elizabeth Arden's Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum. I still adore these little capsules so much for the serum's silky texture and skin-perfecting results. The serum smooth out lines, refine my pores, reduce redness and increase tone overall.

Notice anyone familiar in that video? ;)

Welcome, an alternative to traditional or prescription retinol: Indeed Labs' Bakuchiol Reface Pads. These pads are quickly gaining momentum worldwide because bakuchiol is a more gentle, plant-based alternative to something like Indeed Labs' (award-winning) retinol reface product. With retinol, many will experience side effects including dryness and irritation, making retinol an intimidating ingredient to try out. I wanted to share this product with you since I have super sensitive skin, and always want the best results for my complexion - with minimal effort.

Alanna's Disney World Bachelorette!

Disney World Bachelorette

Earlier in March I went on the most memorable girls trip to Orlando, Florida for my friend Alanna's Disney Bachelorette party. Alanna is the gal behind Classy on the Run and our blogs are what brought us together back in 2014. We've been friends ever since meeting at press events, and she's one of the few bloggers I've stayed connected with on a personal, professional and blog-essional level. I'm so excited to be part of her bridal party in early May 2019, and this 5-day-Disney retreat was an awesome way to get the party started.

Fab Fit Fun Starter Box Review | Canadian Subscriber

Fabfitfun Starter Box

As someone who goes completely nuts for gift with purchases (and trying new products in general) I’ve swooned over sample boxes ever since the early Birchbox days in 2010. Once TopBox started in Canada, I tried a few rounds of boxes, one of which featured here.

When my friend Alanna from Classy on the Run invited me to try the FabFitFun Starter Box for only $8 USD (CAN Shipping) I jumped at the opportunity. My only taste of FabFitFun was last year when my friend Sara passed on her adorable “Meet Me at the Barre” gym bag, which I featured in my “What I Keep in my Gym Bag” post.

HAUL! H&M, Mango, The Bay

I've only ever shopped H&M online once before, and the items arrived half OK half very bad. Luckily, their online garment photos have improved a lot, which means there is less of a surprise once the items show up on your doorstep. H&M also gives you 25% off one item on your first order, which is a great promo to take advantage of if you're interested in trying their "Premium" collection like I was. Keep on reading (and watching!) to see the items I picked up on my last shopping trip across the web.

Best Makeup for Covering Acne | Charlotte Tilbury, Stila, Chanel, Koh Gen Do #FOTD

Acne for Makeup

If there's one thing I've tried to perfect over the last few years of blogging, it would be my ability to correct skin tone, cover breakouts, and truly "highlight" the skin without adding too much product. I've always hated the feeling of thick makeup on my skin, and I find that powders are sometimes the culprit of that. Here's a classic Madeline makeup look using predominantly cream-based products to cover uneven skin tone and texture leaving me with a glowy visage. I'm also using a bunch of new favourites from Charlotte Tilbury, Stila,  Chanel, NYX, Benefit and Koh Gen Do.
