Clarins Milkshake Collection Review | Healthy Glow Milk, Lip Milky Mousse and Joli Blush

Clarins Milkshake Collection Review

Even though I'm working from home, I'm still doing lots of conference calls and workshops so my makeup game is semi-strong. One thing I'm excited to get ready for tomorrow is participating in our first LGFB Canada digital workshop, a 2-hour skincare, makeup and haircare presentation for women undergoing cancer treatment. In addition to my regular 9-5 work, I take so much pride and pleasure in my side-hustles and volunteer work so it's amazing to find products that can slide into my routine as easily as this new Clarins Milkshake collection. Let's dive in.

Clarins Milkshake Collection Healthy Glow Milk Lip Milky Mousse Joli Blush

NEW Milky Boost Healthy Glow Milk $45 - Shade 02

The Milky Boost foundation has pigment-encapsulated pearls that even out the complexion flawlessly. It reminds me a lot of the Origins Vitazing which I used to wear in high school. It comes in 5 shades, which are all on the lighter end of the spectrum. See full swatches in Really Ree's review here. If you wanted a lower-cost complexion product with a wider shade range, you can check out Covergirl's Clean Fresh Skin Nourishing Milk Foundation.

As mentioned in my tutorial, there's a pretty fragrant peach water component, which does fade after application. I prefer using fingers or my Quo HD Foundation #14 brush for this one, not a sponge. It gives a sheer, natural looking coverage that subtly evens out the skin, balancing redness with a natural satin-matte finish. If you want fuller coverage, go in with the Clarins Instant Concealer in a more targeted fashion. This is my favourite concealer of all time BTW, reviewed in detail here.

Clarins Milkshake Collection Joli Blush $33 - Cheeky Peachy

Two new shades have been released in the Joli Blush range for Spring 2020: Cheeky Peachy (featured) and Cheeky Pinky. This long-wearing formula is enriched with hazelnut oil to nourish and protect the skin. This peach shade is sheer, but I LOVE a good blush that you don't need to be too careful with. The Cheeky Pinky shade is darker, see it swatched on Ree's blog.

Clarins Milkshake Lip Milky Mousse Review
Lip Milky Mousse Applicator

Lip Milky Mousse $28 - Shade 02, 05, 06

This new lip formula uses an innovative whipped texture which lightly covers the lips with a soft tint. Infused with peach milk, it smooths and nourishes with a fresh, satin finish. Each tube has a soft cushion applicator, and I'd say this is the "matte mousse-stain" cousin of Clarins' glossy Instant Light Lip Perfector - which everyone truly adores. I've never tried them but I think this could be related to the Glossier Cloud Paint. Perhaps Milky Mousse could be a lip AND cheek item?!

Clarins Lip Cushion Stain Tint Milk Review
Compared to Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint

I'll admit that for my daily look I typically opt for a more pigmented, glossy finish with buildable colour and a plumping finish. I compared this to the Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint, which is kind of similar. Note that the Lip Milky Mousse does leave a stain on the lips.

Available in six shades:

01 Milky Strawberry
02 Milky Peach (featured)
03 Milky Pink
04 Milky Tea Rose
05 Milky Rosewood (featured)
06 Milky Nude (featured)
