STILA, KORRES & CLEAN | Summer 2019 New Products

STILA, KORRES & CLEAN | Summer 2019 New Products

I was thinking the other day about how tremendous the world of beauty and skincare has become. About 10 years ago, it was hard to find non-mainstream-brands. Even "Natural" products were exclusively sold at farmers markets and The Big Carrot, and everyone's mom was either an Olay, Clinique or Lancome lady. Nowadays, those staple brands sometimes fall to the wasteside (despite them still being great!)

So today I wanted to share a few new things from iconic brands Stila, Korres and Clean that have been released for Spring/Summer 2019. Read on to hear about my faves.

STILA

Stila Souffle Primer
LINGERIE SOUFFLÉ SKIN PERFECTING PRIMER in ILLUMINATING, IN THE BUFF POWDER SPRAY in ILLUMINATING

Although the market has become a bit oversaturated, IMO, there are a good handful of brands that still ring true to being fun, intriguing and trusted brands in the industry. For me, Stila has always been a super classy, sassy and high-end brand that I could ACTUALLY *kinda* AFFORD back in high school. I twisted through their lip glaze like it was a push pop, and still have my original Kitten eyeshadow that I cherish so deeply. Their multi-use palettes, fun eyeliners and now outstanding makeup bases have kept me coming back for more. Here are a few of my favourite things from the brand this spring/summer:

LINGERIE SOUFFLÉ SKIN PERFECTING PRIMER

LINGERIE SOUFFLÉ SKIN PERFECTING PRIMER $47

Um HELLO, most gorgeous packaging ever! Up there with Guerlain perfumes, Stila's Lingerie Soufflé primer looks like a gem and performs like one too. When applied to the skin, this primer provides a rush of freshness. It's a whipped gel formula that primes skin and comes in two tones: illuminating or bronzing. Light-refracting pearls add a natural-looking glow with a blurring, skin perfecting effect. There are "gellifying ingredients" and emulsifiers which give you a smooth application of foundation over the top, without any tackiness. Packed with natural botanicals and over 70% water, you can apply this soufflé under foundation to prime, or over foundation to refresh your complexion! I love it.

LINGERIE SOUFFLÉ SKIN PERFECTING COLOR

LINGERIE SOUFFLÉ SKIN PERFECTING COLOR $49

Along the same vein as the aformentioned primer this opulently-whipped and refreshing tinted skin perfector comes in 8 sheer shades. Along with the incredible spray powder, I haven't tried this but I definitely have it on my wishlist!

Advanced pigments and light refracting particles smooth, blur and even skin tone creating the optimal illusion - skin that looks naturally fresh and perfected. Creates a translucent veil, allowing each shade to cover a multitude of skin tones. Skin-loving formula with botanicals and over 70% water for a comfortable feel, all day.

LITTLE WHITE LIES LIQUID EYE SHADOW

LITTLE WHITE LIES LIQUID EYE SHADOW $31

I adore the liquid glitter shadows from Stila, a few of which I reviewed in-depth here. These new 6 shades added to their liquid eye shadow lineup begin in a veil of white sparkle that magically transforms into luminescent, punchy pastel-inspired shades that glisten on lids. There are two sides to every shade! At first glance this glimmering liquid shadow appears white. But the formula contains luminescent particles with a colored inner core, that when blended, reveals those inner core colors. Like Stila's other non-transfer, sparkling liquid eye shadows, this new formula has a refreshing feel, smooth color laydown, and skin conditioners for a comfortable feel.

MAKEUP DAY TO NIGHT BEFORE AND AFTER
PRODUCTS USED: IN THE BUFF POWDER SPRAY in ILLUMINATING, LITTLE WHITE LIES HEAVENLY HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE, LITTLE WHITE LIES LIQUID EYE SHADOW in Fuchsia Fiction, ARDELL LASHES

At the preview I got a great little touchup that added so. much. glow. The artist blended the 3 shades of their new Little White Lies highlight palette to brush over my cheekbones, threw some of the In The Buff Powder Spray to set under my eyes (watch out, this is glittery!) and added Ardell falsies along with some gorgeous Fuchsia Liquid Eye Shadow. Glorious!

KORRES

KORRES rose review

KORRES is another brand that I've known and loved for years. My sister swears by their Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial, and I have a collection of their body butters that my scaly legs love.

WILD ROSE H2Rose Hydrating Face Mist $44

The Korres Wild Rose line is taking the beauty world by a storm, and my favourite product has to be the hyaluronic acid-packed face mist. Housed in a sturdy glass bottle, the mist applies like an amusement park cool-down station, and smells of delectable rose water. Whether you use it to prep the skin for serum, moisten before makeup, reduce your powdery finish or use it to refresh on a warm summer's day, you'll definitely love it too. Even for those who might not like rose, this Rosa Damascena water scent is light and fresh - not a hint of old nanny's cologne.

Hot tip: apparently splashing your face with cool water is scientifically proven to help reduce feelings of nausea. I'm looking at you, mamas with morning sickness. A bottle of this in the fridge might be a lifesaver!

CLEAN

Clean Perfume

CLEAN BEAUTY COLLECTIVE - Endless Summer $68

CLEAN is a new love of mine, and I can't seem to put down their delicious Endless Summer fragrance. I don't love wearing heavy perfume on a daily basis, so this light, soapy scent is great to spritz through your hair or on a tee before running out into a sunshiny day. Even when it's cloudy, you can count on the comforting notes of white freesia and coconut water to keep you poised and pleasant smelling.

Clean Fragrance Review
Clean Beauty Collective has a very extensive range of long-wearing fragrances, you're bound to find one you love!
