Full Face of Almay Makeup | Review & Tutorial

Almay Review

I've used Almay for as long as I've been wearing makeup. From their hypoallergenic mascara to their foundation for acne-prone skin, there are some true gems throughout their product lineup. Today I'm sharing a (near) full-face of Almay products that are making me so excited for spring and summer.

Almay jelly
Almay Make Them Jelly™ Hi-Lite in UNICORN LIGHT (003) and 24K DREAMS (004)

Almay Make Them Jelly™ Hi-Lite $15

These are really cool (literally) and trendy highlight creams that give a gorgeous luminescence to the skin. I massage a bit of the solid gel between my fingers and tap it onto the high points of my face. The finish is subtle, but you can always add more. This application method is OK, but not ideal for rushed mornings. I loved using this product as a base for a powder highlight over the top.

Almay eyeshadow

Almay Shadow Squad™ $7

I have these two eyeshadow quads in the shades UNICORN (100) and HERE GOES NOTHING (140). The idea behind this product is to have your favorite shade in 4 great finishes - matte, satin, metallic, and glitter. The pigmentation of these two very light shades are minimal, but enough to give a gorgeous glow when used as highlighter. Check out my video tutorial to see how I made them work on my skin.

If I were to recommend some shades to try, I'd go for NEVER SETTLE (120) and OWN IT (230).

Almay Goddess Gloss
Almay Goddess Gloss™ in DREAMY (930) and GILDED (900)

Almay Goddess Gloss™ $10

Pigmented, moisturizing glosses with a smooth finish and long-lasting shine. I reviewed this product already here and used it as a topper to another lip product, which you can see in my video tutorial above.

Almay Eye Paint
Almay Velvet Foil™ Cream Shadow in CUPID GLAZE (020) and GOLDEN VIBES (030)

Almay Velvet Foil™ Cream Shadow $8

These high-pigment, metallic cream eyeshadows claim to not crease, smudge, or fade for up to 24 hours. I found the pigmentation to be impressive, and easily blendable. I didn't encounter any creasing or fading, but note that I did top this with the purple shadow palette. Overall I think these are a great find at the drugstore since they perform well with no primer. These are great products for makeup artists since you can squeeze the cream out onto a palette, ensuring a sanitary application each time.

Almay 3 Colour Eye shadow Palette
Almay Shadow Trios™ in SMOLDERING EMBERS (020) and COPPERY BLAZE (030)

Almay Shadow Trios™ $9

These eyeshadow palettes are pretty standard for the drugstore. I would sooner buy Wet n Wild or Maybelline before one of these, but the performance was just OK - better than Revlon shadows at least. I prefer the payoff and shades of SMOLDERING EMBERS (020) to COPPERY BLAZE (030), and you can see how I used them in the tutorial.

I reviewed the stunning Almay Palette Pops™ Eyeshadow palette in Naturalista (10) on Instagram and would sooner recommend that stunning selection of shades to these palettes.

Does @almay makeup feel like such a nice throwback for you too? 😍💄💕 I used to use Almay concealer, eyeliner and mascara all the time in high school. This week I’ve been trying out their #ClearComplexion foundation in the lightest shade 100 Ivory. It’s quite thin, I use 2 pumps with a beauty blender for medium coverage. I like the fact that it is matte, I wore it over my @clarinscanada #HydraQuench cream and didn’t need powder. It even lasted well throughout a sweaty workout class! I took my selfies afterwards, no intense oxidation either. It isn’t my ride-or-die but I love it for times like these when my skin is temperamental and I want a product that has salicylic acid in it for during the day. Bonus: I used a gorgeous eye palette that I won in a giveaway by @livjudd - also Almay! 💁🏼‍♀️ such amazing pigmentation, the matte browns worked as brow powder in a pinch. So pleased! 💋 #almayclearcomplexion #bbloggers #bbloggersca @topbox #makemyselfclear #freesample #trywithtopbox

Almay Clear Complexion™ Makeup $15

This is a staple foundation in my routine. It is lightweight, non-drying and stays put well. The coverage is medium, and can be built up easily. See my review of Clear Complexion Makeup here. I much prefer this formula to their Best Blend Forever, which I reviewed here.
