Essence 2017 Collection | Blush & Highlight

Essence 2017 Collection

Much like Wet n Wild which I reviewed on Tuesday, I love essence makeup. So so much. And our history goes back quite some time! Mentioned before in my Top Drugstore Makeup 2014, here in Fall 2015, then in Fall 2016, and most recently in a GRWM video back in the summer, their products are never new to my collection.

I received the 2017 collection last spring (Yes. 1 year ago! *facepalm*) and I've finally corralled all my photos together for this post. It was a busy summer, fall, and winter, to say the least, so read on to see photos and genuine thoughts on each item I got.

Essence PR Canada

The event was amazing. Hosted in Toronto's West end in a loft-style venue, we were treated to the cutest snacks and drinks while enjoying manicures and makeovers. The theme of "Rock 'n Doll" centered around their new mascara (shop HERE).

Satin Touch Blush in 10 Satin Coral and 20 Satin Love. Both $3.99 ea
Light up your face luminizer palette $6.99

I have been using Essence blush for years, starting with thier Silky Touch Blush and now moving into the Satin Touch Blush. I do prefer the intense pigmentation and swirly design of their Silky Touch collection, but this one is still wonderful for those craving a very natural look.

The Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette is an amazing find, which I used in my makeup tutorial HERE. Pigmentation on this is top notch, you should absolutely pick it up since it's only $7.

Shape Your Face Contouring Palette in 20 Ready Set Pink! and 10 Ready Set Peach! $6.99 ea

The Shape Your Face Contouring Palette was one of the most exciting products for me from the collection, and I'm not disappointed. I am a culprit of the "makeup on the go" life, since I never have enough time to fit in my whole routine. These sleek, pigmented palettes are so pretty and have great colour payoff. I do prefer the pink-toned vs. coral for the winter months, but I could see myself gravitating to the warmer peach palette once summer hits.

Another palette that truly blew me away in regards to pigmentation is The glow must go on bronzing and highlighting palette. At $10 these bronzy highlighter shades rival a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick and the matte eyeshadow pigmentation is awesome. The little brush it comes with is so cute and soft, I will definitely be using it in my travel bag. Since I don't tend to reach for face palettes like this very often, I depotted these shades into my custom MAC palette which you can see here.
