FARMACY Beauty Review | Honey Potion and Green Clean

Farmacy Beauty Review

Ever since the *cleverly named* farm-to-skin beauty brand Farmacy launched at Sephora in 2015, it has become one of the most talked-about green beauty brands in the world. I wanted to try these two products, Honey Potion ($56) and Green Clean ($34) since they have huge hype and fit well into my routine. Honey potion is a hydration mask packed with antioxidants and Green Clean is a makeup melt away cleansing balm. Let’s see how they work.

Farmacy Honey Potion Review

Green Clean $34

This soft and buttery makeup dissolving balm has a light texture that truly melts on contact. It does a great job at breaking up my non-waterproof products, and I use a baby washcloth to remove the residue. I still prefer my L’Occitane Immortelle Divine makeup removing oil, but this certainly works well for my sensitive, combination skin - and is “certified green” at Sephora (made with organic/natural ingredients). I believe the butter formula won’t last for as many uses as an oil cleanser in a pump, but this definitely would travel better - no mess! Out of all the balm makeup removers I’ve tried, this is one of  the best.

Farmacy Honey Potion Ingredients

Honey Potion $56

This thick and sticky honey mask comes in a luxe glass jar, perfect for your weekly pamper sessions. The golden gel-paste is definitely made with real honey - you’ll taste the sweetness if some gets on your lips! I apply this mask to dry skin directly after cleansing. I use a generous dollop (at least a toonie size) and rub it all over my face and neck. It warms up significantly when rubbed, and becomes white. I’ll leave it on for 2 minutes, then remove with a warm baby washcloth as well. I honestly don’t find that there is any big difference in my skin after using Honey Potion, aside from slight exfoliation and increased plumpness. Due to the very sticky nature of the mask and how it’s a bit unpleasant to use, I wouldn’t repurchase. My favourite part has to be that it comes with a magnetic spatula that hangs onto the lid when not in use. Genius!

I also appreciate how Farmacy’s packing is so intelligently designed. One piece of recycled cardboard has been folded into a box - which also serves as the information card when unfolded. Less waste, accomplished in such a beautiful fashion.

Have you tried anything from the Farmacy brand yet?
