BodyBoss Fitness Guide

"Mind over matter" is all too applicable when I'm struggling to maintain my healthy diet and workout routine.

It's simple: I need help keeping my food and exercise routines fun so that I don't get bored. This year, I've seriously succeeded in transforming my approach to healthy living. The BodyBoss Ultimate Body Fitness Guide & Superfood Nutrition Guide are #goals, perfectly embodying my ideal diet and fitness routines that you can start right now, and maintain for years to come.

Nutty Salad

I have lucky taste buds, since nothing makes me happier than a big bowl of greens, fresh berries and grainy bread. I can't begin to tell you how happy I was reading through all the recipes in the BodyBoss Superfood Nutrition Guide. To keep it short, here are 10 things I love about the foodie books:
  1. Amazing nutritional tips on which foods will satisfy, fuel and heal the body. Easy swaps to replace low-nutrient foods with better options to feel fuller for longer, and nourish the body. (Honey in place of sugar, nut oils instead of processed veg oil, whole grain bread instead of white, etc.)
  2. Motivating quotes and reliable citations in the footnotes to do further research if  need be.
  3. Insta-worthy photos and funny recipe titles throughout (Squat & Squash toast! Looks so delicious.)
  4. Highly attractive colours and graphics. I adore the page layouts, especially the "cheat sheet" section! Adorable.
  5. Ideas for party dips, meat dishes, unlimited fruit and veg options, and vegetarian recipes like veggie burgers that normalize meat-free alternatives to maintain variety in your diet.
  6. This guide lets you be the boss, and have what you want: Choco-Banana Power muffins taste delicious, and help restore muscles after working out.
  7. LISTS! Essential ingredients to keep stocked in your kitchen, weekly shopping lists and "meal prep" instructions for Sunday night. Hallelujah.
  8. OMG, the Smoothies & Desserts guide. Guys, so many great ideas in here. They give you the perfect ratios and incorporate all the best ingredients (matcha, turmeric, cinnamon, berries, etc.) to keep things fresh and new (not too sweet or liquidy).
  9. Meal-by-Meal Plan: Each day includes 3 meals and 2 snacks that combine nutrition-dense Superfoods, lean protein, healthy fats and wholesome carbs. You don't need to think about anything, just follow the instructions and you'll be eating healthy all week.
  10. Want long-term results? Dive into these super attractive meals which will kickstart your week if you're feeling uninspired with food.

Now, on to my favourite salad of the bunch:

BodyBoss Salad Recipe

All of the recipes from BodyBoss are great tasting, with optimal levels of nutrients to satisfy your hunger and fuel your body and brain. You can easily modify ingredients based on what you have in your fridge. Here I swapped pecans for almonds, added strawberries, and used feta instead of cottage cheese.

Superfood Salad

I'm all about eating reasonable portions of whole foods. The BodyBoss recipes (150+ of them!) are completely foolproof and don't take a day to prepare. Best of all, you're allowed to cheat on your diet here and there, so don't forget to check out the back section of Book 1 for delicious, healthy desserts.

Beach Photo

I am so not a fitness buff, but I love feeling energetic and in shape. I've have a lot of trouble sleeping when I don't maintain my 3x weekly exercise routine, and my mental capacity is way stronger when I've done some cardio and muscle training mid-day. I visit City Dance Corps in Toronto for most of my workout classes, and in between I use my BodyBoss Fitness Guide to stay on track.

Diet Before and After

I'm also not someone who obsesses over the appearance of their body, instead I pay attention to my overall health and fitness to ensure I'm living life to the fullest.

I was noticing recently that my muscles felt extra weak. I was getting tired from walking, pulling muscles while lifting furniture, and rolling my ankles when walking down the street. When I was on vacation last summer touring around northern Italy, I would feel so sore just from walking, and I would have to sit down to relieve my feet and joints. I understand now that sitting at a desk all day doesn’t activate muscles in a way to keep me strong.

After a bout of physiotherapy, I found out that my left side is way stronger than my right. I was prescribed exercises to strengthen my glutes and legs (on the right side especially) and I've noticed an immense improvement in my balance and strength after beginning regular HIIT workouts.

A few months ago I couldn't do crunches without my full body shaking, and push ups were literally impossible. All I want is to feel like I can run without passing out, ski for a weekend and not have sore muscles, burn some calories while also having fun, and look better for it.

BodyBoss provides worksheets in their guides for easy goal setting. You can srecird weight loss and measurements to track your progress. It's truly the whole package since they include deeelightful post-workout recovery meals and snacks. Don't forget tips like taking a bath in Epsom salts - the magnesium will help release serotonin to make you extra relaxed and happy!

Here are my favourite exercises from the 12-Week Fitness Guide that I brought to the beach:

Why you need to try BodyBoss workouts:

  • High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) are structured circuits for maximum power and fat burning.
  • Optimized training cycles consisting of 4 cycles of 3 weeks, designed to help you reach optimal performance, power, fitness and fat burning.
  • Save time by working out in under 24 minutes, 3 times a week.
  • No tricky equipment, no gym memberships needed, no subscriptions and you can (clearly) workout anywhere you want.

The BodyBoss Ultimate Body Fitness Guide & Superfood Nutrition Guide start at $60 CAD (digital copy) and will encourage you to transform and maintain your diet and workout routines. I like the idea of a digital copy since you can carry your recipes and workout routines wherever you go (work, vacations, etc.) I personally prefer the physical book (free delivery worldwide!) since it's smaller than an A4 notebook and is super handy to fit in a bag. This is an awesome Mother's Day gift, or birthday gift for anyone who wants to look and feel their best.

When you jump on the @BodyBossMethod bandwagon, tag your posts #BossEffect and join in the community of boss babes committed to looking and feeling their best.
