Products I've Used Up #4

Happy Monday! Today I'm emptying out my finished products bin and sharing my thoughts on each and every item. Here's my last empties post to see some previous faves and duds.

I am marking items according to these three opinions:

1. I love and would repurchase
2. I would recommend, but would not repurchase
3. I do not like and would not recommend

Missha 24K Gold Caviar Collagen Cotton Sheet Mask - This is a great sheet mask that made my skin feel rejuvenated and fresh. I got two uses out of it since I kept the package and used the excess liquid as a serum later on that week.

The Body Shop Seaweed Day Cream - This stuff sucks. It is loaded with alcohol, perfume, and irritates my skin without adding any moisture. I would not recommend the entire Seaweed range.

✓ Dolce & Gabanna Dolce Perfume - I loved this Sephora sample so much that I bought a travel size for my bag. I hate spending lots of money on perfume, which is why I don't plan on buying a full-sized bottle. My current favourite is Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc from L'Occitane, a brand new addition to their Collection de Grasse which I just reviewed here.

✓ Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate - I've used a few samples of this nighttime oil, and I think it's okay. My skin much prefers a regular lotion or a simple oil like Argan or Sweet Almond oil for night. Regardless, it's a nice product to try out seeing as how there are countless rave reviews out there.

Kiehl's Ultra Face Moisturizer - I'm not crazy about this moisturizer as I found it to be a bit too heavy for daytime, and I don't like the scent. I'd sooner recommend something from Nivea or Cetaphil/CeraVe if you're looking for a very plain moisturizer.

Clarins Body Exfoliator - No. This is bad. The granules don't wash off easily, I don't like the scent, and it's 100% not worth the money. Use exfoliating gloves and a regular body wash instead.

✓ Burt's Bees Radiant Toner - This is a great toner from the drugstore, and an affordable liquid exfoliant. I unfortunately can't continue to use it since it includes Glycolic Acid which gives me a rash around my nose. It might be discontinued because I can't find it for sale on the Canadian Burt's Bees site.

Kirkland Face Wipes from Costco - BEST MAKEUP REMOVING WIPES EVER. Costco rules.

✓ Shiseido Facial Cotton - This is the only cotton I'll use to remove my nail polish. It's only a waste of $10 if you use them every day for your face. I use cotton rounds from Costco or the dollar store for my face, so it takes me about 1 year to finish a pack of these squares.

✓ Miracle 10 Toner - This was a great toner. I loved using it and I would totally repurchase it, but the ingredients are quite similar to Thayer's Witch Hazel toners so I'll hold off for now.

✓ Marc Jacobs Daisy Lotion - This was a nice lightweight body cream that I got in a set with my (now finished) Daisy fragrance. I don't love perfume-y body lotions, so I wouldn't repurchase it.

✓ Monoprix Creme Soin Hydratante - I Love all generic French lotions and creams. You could use this stuff head-to-toe and it's around 2 € at the grocery store. Score!

✗ Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter - Call me grandma, but I've seriously grown out of the fake fragranced products from places like BBW. They can irritate my skin and I don't like how the scent will stick around for like a week after application.

✗ Dove Chamomile Deodorant - I'm really not crazy about this one from Dove. I love the Cucumber Go Fresh deodorant though.

✓ Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream - This cream was a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed using it, despite the relatively strong scent. I would totally consider repurchasing it since it's nice and lightweight for the daytime.

✓ Klorane Dry Shampoo - This is great stuff, and the best dry shampoo out there for me. See the full review and comparison here.

✗ Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser - TERRIBLE. You should not feel inclined to spend more than $20 on a face cleanser since you'll be washing money and false claims down the drain. The bottle leaked, the product warmed up on contact (gimmick that has no benefit and could irritate the skin) and really didn't clean well. Go for CeraVe or Cetaphil and spend money on a treatment or moisturizer.

✓ The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream - Such a classic product, and very similar in texture to the Burt's Bees lotion mentioned above. It has some added fragrance and isn't very hydrating, so I'd skip out on repurchasing.

✓ Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid - This travel size was a bit of a fail since the bottle leaked all over my bag. Luckily, I told Customer Service and they refunded me the money. Love PC, hopefully they improve the packaging. Full review on this all-time favourite exfoliant linked here.

✓ Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator - Great moisturizer for combination skin. This was a free sample in one of my orders on Paula's Choice, and I would 100% repurchase.

✓ Heritage Products Rose Water & Glycerin - This refreshing spray-toner is amazing. I got mine on VitaCost.com and I would repurchase it in a heartbeat. Click here to see my post about treating acne and why both rosewater and glycerin are amazing ingredients to heal and soothe skin.

Burt's Bees makes a Rosewater & Glycerin toner which I definitely need to try (linked here). I also love this article outlining the benefits of rosewater and glycerin.

✓ LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner - Such a lovely in-shower moisturizer, but not something I would personally repurchase due to the high price tag. It makes a beautiful gift, especially in the Rosie gift set which I received it in.

✓ Parissa Organic Sugar Wax - I will repurchase this wax for years. See the full review here and look out for this brand new product in Shoppers Drug Mart this spring. It will change your life! Waxing made easy with barely any pain and quick cleanup.

✓ Biotherm Micellar Cleansing Water - This is an okay product, but I don't really like micellar water to remove makeup so I would not repurchase. I much prefer the L'Occitane Immortelle Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup, or the Kirkland wipes mentioned above.

✗ Vichy Aqualia Thermal Moisture Mask - This was just a sample, but it's so bad that I had to include it. It's like an irritating version of my favourite Soothing Moisture Mask from Avène. My eye area burned after I applied this, and it left a sticky residue and annoying perfume. Big no from me.

✓ Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray - I would not repurchase an aerosol can of water, but some people swear by this stuff. It has a similar refreshing effect on the skin as my go-to Thayer's Witch Hazel toner.

✓ Gelly Roll Pen - Ok, this is not a beauty product, but I used up a pen and I really liked it! The Gelly Roll pens are from Japan and can be found at most craft stores. I love writing notes in the black 06 ballpoint pens. MUJI makes a very similar type of pen, also from Japan.

✓ Bausch & Lomb SofLens Daily Disposable Contacts - These lenses keep my dry eyes very happy throughout the day, and they allow me to skip the whole case/solution/washing step. Big win! Click here to try them for free.
