New Summer 2018 Body Shop Products | Visit The Store & Review

Best at The Body Shop

One of the longest-standing skincare brands in my beauty cabinet has been The Body Shop. I love the simple, reliable power of their hair, skin and makeup lines, which suit my needs perfectly. It helps that their stores are widespread, and there's almost always a sweet sale going on to help stock up on your faves. Earlier in the spring I visited their Queen St. location and got the lowdown on some of their new products for 2018.

Hurry! The Body Shop has a huge sale on now with 40-70% off. Don't forget to use Ebates to save an additional 8% in referral bonus as well. Sign up for Ebates here.

Here are my favourites from The Body Shop right now:

ETHIOPIAN GREEN COFFEE CREAM

Spa of the World™ French Grape Seed Body Scrub 350 ml

350 ml $32

I'm not usually one for scrubs since I tend to make my body wash do double duty with a shower brush or loofah. But when I'm taking a bath, shaving my legs, or having a pamper day in general, this French Grape Seed powder and sugar scrub has left me VERY pleased. The formula is rich, concentrated in nourishing skin conditioners and fine exfoliating granules. There are no huge sugar chunks, and the whole sensory experience leaves me feeling so soft and refreshed.

Spa of the World™ Ethiopian Green Coffee Firming Body Cream

350 ml $36

An amazing pair with the scrub, this Green Coffee Body Cream is firming, smoothing, great for legs and arms. The formula is not oily, sinking in quick and keeping my skin plump. It's rally fresh in the summer, with luxe packaging and a delicious creamy lightweight texture.

Spa of the World™ Thai Makrut Lime Toning Body Oil

170 ml $24

This zingy makrut lime body oil is stunning! It can be hard to find an outstanding body oil that comes in plastic packaging, so this one truly fits the bill. This lime aroma is praised by Thai women for its stimulating and uplifting scent – ideal for re-awakening your senses in the morning. This oil is surprisingly light as well, sinking in fast and softening my follicles to ensure less razor burn and uncomfortable hair-grow-back.

Drops of Strength

Roots of Strength™ Firming Shaping Essence Lotion

160 ml $22

Refreshing and lightweight, this daily essence lotion has the texture of water mixed with a moisturizing gel. Intended to be tapped on after cleansing and toning, this moisture-water helps skin look refined and firmer, as if reshaped. It "activates your skin" with the power of soya oil, and is to be used as a drink of water before applying serum. So K-Beauty!

Roots of Strength™ Firming Shaping Serum

30 ml $42

This silky serum promises to be firming and shaping, leaving skin feeling smoother and refined. The formula is infused with three root extracts, including ginger from Madagascar. Skin feels moisturized, smoother, plumper and firmer. The pump bottle makes it very easy to apply and I love how this serum sinks in but doesn't "disappear", ensuring there's a barrier on my skin to keep hydration in. I'd recommend this for all skin types.

Roots of Strength™ Firming Shaping Day Cream

50 ml $34

It's great to see that The Body shop offers 100% vegan skincare, like this rich, firming and shaping day cream. It is enriched with 3 root extracts: ginger from Madagascar, ginseng from China and ruscus from Europe. With the Community Trade soya oil from Brazil, skin feels firmer, denser and strengthened - that's the key. I love using a thick moisturizer like this in the morning to keep my skin youthful and glowy. It isn't greasy so makeup can still sit on top, and it layers so wonderfully over the essence and serum. This range is dermatologically tested, and formulated without mineral oil, paraffin and petrolatum so it's perfect for even sensitive skin like mine.

Roots of Strength Review

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Review

Drops of Youth™ Youth Gentle Foaming Wash

150 ml $20

Enriched with plant stem cells, this instantly foaming face wash cleanses the skin very fast and leaves you feeling fresh and revived. The youth-enhancing formula cleanses the skin without drying, and is a great follow-up (second cleanse) to a makeup removing oil. I also enjoy the Youth Concentrate Serum from this collection if you want a very thin hydrating and plumping serum for day-to-day.

Drops of Youth™ Youth Bouncy Eye Mask

30 ml $32

Enriched with cucumber extract and plant stem cells, the delicious-looking Youth Bouncy Eye Mask can be applied to instantly give tired eyes a power-nap. It can also be used overnight to wake up with skin that looks younger and feels healthier. The non-sticky formula helps to de-puff bag under eyes, and a little goes a long way so it's great for combo skin and under makeup. The formula is not at all oily, so it could be paired under a thicker eye cream for more dry skins.

Drops of Youth Peel

Drops of Youth™ Youth Liquid Peel

145 ml $25

This cult-favourite Liquid Peel exfoliates and gently lifts the impurities from your skin, balling up clumps of dead skin before your eyes. This product always gets a 5/5 star review, for a reason. A revolutionary gel-to-peel formula originating in Japan, this granular-free exfoliator leaves skin clean and purified from the day’s pollutants. Continued use will leave a fresh, smoother, and more luminous looking skin. I have also tried the Drops of Light liquid peel - both are great, the only negative is that I sometimes have trouble removing it since the little balls of dead skin and dirt get super sticky on peach fuzz. If you have a few extra bucks, I recently tried the exfoliating liquid peel spray from Juice Beauty - it's a bit more refined and comes off much easier.

Lip Juicer Coconut, Passionfruit & Carrot

Lip Juicer - Coconut, Passionfruit & Carrot

4g $6

As someone who doesn't like EOS balms, I was hesitant to try the Lip Juicers since I thought they'd be the same thing. Luckily, I ADORE this balm so much more! With a 100% vegan formula, this moisture-boosting balm gives you the freshest colour that can be applied so easily thanks to the crayon-shaped tip. Scented and flavoured with irresistible smoothie-inspired combinations, I can't get enough of the passionfruit and carrot colour (worn below). The colour wears beautifully, never leaves my lips feeling dry and brightens up your look instantly. Pro-tip: keep one in your handbag if you have a baby, my nephew loved playing with it!
