Mary Kay TimeWise Skincare | Launch Party & Review

Mary Kay Timewise

Do you use Mary Kay cosmetics? As they are a 55 year old company, I feel like we've all dabbled into their skincare or makeup at one point in our lives. With millions of salespeople worldwide, Mary Kay is clearly making great products that have withstood the test of time. This is a multi-level marketing brand that is promising results, and delivering on them. I was recently invited to a re-launch party for the TimeWise skincare line which took place at Her Majesty's Pleasure in Toronto. This was the most memorable event of 2018 for me, and the products themselves have really impressed me so far.

Timewise Review

TimeWise was first released 18 years ago, so it was due for a facelift. The fresh pink and grey packaging is clean, sleek and easy to travel with, protecting the products inside from oxidation (which can happen with an open jar format). The collection includes a cleanser, SPF 30 day lotion, eye cream, and nighttime moisturizer, all of which I received in trial size- perfect to pack in a carry on for vacation. Another perk? There are two formulas: oily/combination, and normal/dry.

See some clips from the event here:

The TimeWise collection contains some of the most potent skincare ingredients on the market, including resveratrol and vitamin B3. Mary Kay's Age Minimize 3D Complex has been proven to reduce the damaging effects of free radicals and exhaust particles on human skin cells. Free radicals like to take over the protein in our skin, so using these products will help make sure free radicals can’t get in.

The research behind this collection is complex, seeing as how it took five years to create. Luckily the products themselves are super simple to use. And take note that everybody’s skin ages at a different rate based on how we live our lives, so it's never too late to consider protecting your skin. We can do this by defending against harmful UVA and UVB rays to delay aging, and byway of powerful, supercharged antioxidants found in this skincare range.

Mary Kay TimeWise Skincare Priorities: Cleanse, freshen, exfoliate, brighten

The TimeWise Age Minimize 3D 4-in-1 Cleanser prepares your skin for the benefits of your next step by removing impurities. It leaves skin feeling clean and exfoliated with a formula that works for you. The TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Day Cream includes SPF 30 Broad Spectrum Chemical Sunscreen and helps neutralize free radicals on skin and moisturizes for 12 hours while providing UVA/UVB protection. The TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Night Cream prepares your skin for the stressors of the next day with a boost of bedtime antioxidants and replenishes moisture for 12 hours. The TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Eye Cream brightens the eye area immediately and keeps it moisturized for 12 hours.

Another huge benefit of this collection is the fact that it increases collagen production. But why do we need to worry about boosting collagen in the skin?

Collagen is a long chain protein that sits in your skin. What Mary Kay has done is they've essentially chopped up collagen into peptides - so the skin will absorb the peptides which tricks our skin into thinking that our natural collagen is breaking down. So then it creates new collagen! Bam, bouncy, fresh skin. Buy the Full Size Set here for $159, or the Trial Set here for $29.

The bartender at HMP was named Brian and he made a mean margarita. It was so fun to get a pedi with a cocktail on the side, would highly recommend the experience!

Her Majesty's Pleasure Review

I didn't realize that the founder of the brand, Mary Kay Ash was such a fabulous businesswoman of her time. Here are some of her most memorable quotes:

Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.

A company is only as good as the people it keeps.

For every failure, there's an alternative course of action. You just have to find it. When you come to a roadblock, take a detour.

A mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will go further than a great idea that inspires no one.

There are two things people want more than sex and money... recognition and praise.

Everyone has an invisible sign hanging from their neck saying, 'Make me feel important.' Never forget this message when working with people.

If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right.

Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.

No matter how busy you are, you must take time to make the other person feel important.

We fall forward to succeed.
