Sugar Skull Makeup Tutorial & How To Take It Off | Dermalogica

sugar skull makeup

Halloween has almost passed, but that doesn't mean your fun with makeup has to end here. This year I did a fun sugar skull look using the brand new Anastasia Prism palette ($55).

At the end of the day, nothing feels better than washing off your makeup and grime with a comforting cleanser. I've raved about my L'Occitane oil cleansers, but anything oil-based will do. Dermalogica's new Precleanse Balm* melts away impurities and makeup from your skin, leaving a fresh canvas for your second, water-based cleanser.

Dermalogica Cleanser

This water-activated, balm-to-oil cleanser deconstructs layers of excess sebum (oil), waterproof make-up, environmental pollutants and residual product buildup on skin. Use the included Cleansing Mitt to thoroughly cleanse debris from the skin’s surface, allowing your recommended Dermalogica Cleanser to deliver more effective cleansing results. The Natural Biolipid Complex locks in hydration and reinforces the skin barrier while Apricot Kernel Oil helps nourish skin. Safe for use around the eye area, works on all skin types, and has no artificial fragrances or colors. - Dermalogica

Dermalogica Review

This cleanser + free silicone cleansing mitt is $62, sold online and in select salons (like The Ten Spot). A little goes a long way, so you may want to try the travel size 15 ml) which is only $21 before committing to the full size.

After using the balm, I have been over the moon with the Special Cleansing Gel* ($52 for 250 ml) which is a soap-free, foaming wash. It's so refreshing and removes impurities without disturbing the skin's natural moisture balance. There are no artificial colours or fragrances, and the natural ingredients of lavender, mint and "Quillaja Saponaria" leave skin soft and oh-so-clean.

before and after

I've always been hesitant to dive into Dermalogica mainly due to the high price tags. If I wasn't always rotating products in and out of my routine, I'd absolutely look to them for clean, reliable products to keep in my permanent stash. This balm dissolved my very heavy makeup with ease, and my skin was so clear in the morning. I'd recommend both of these products 100%.

Have you ever tried Dermalogica?
